She groaned softly, shaking her head slowly. She bent down, and picked up Gazimon, carrying him in her arms. "Things have changed too much for me. Even..You." She whispered, looking down at the top of Gazimon's head. He looked at her sadly but couldn't disagree with her. "If Gazimon ever told me, I didn't need him anymore, I'd prove him wrong. The Henry I remember, would of done the same, and fought for his best friend." She stated, still looking at Gazimon. "And, for some reason, I just feel like... I dunno. We aren't bonded, like how we used to be." She added, fighting back the urge to cry. "I get it, I was dead, Somehow, I came back, but I just thought our reunion would of been, better than this." His hand gripped the air as if to hold onto something and faultered a little, still resting at his side like the unspoken words in his heart. 'I'm sorry,' was all he could say, but he knew it wouldn't fill the gap between them--couldn't fill the gap that all the years had torn into him. It couldn't make up for the darkness or the shame. He put his hand behind her and pulled her close. "I'm sure there's something more than this for you. You who was always, always much stronger than I was." She rested her forehead against his shoulder, her eyes remaining locked against the hard concrete beneath her feet. She sobbed softly, "I love you, Henry." He pulled her a little closer. "I know..." His hand gripped her a little before it moved back. He looked away feeling ashamed. She looked up at him, her hues scanning every detail on his face. She leaned up onto her tiptoes, placing a small kiss on his cheek. "Promise me everything will get better." She hoped. "I... can't." He wanted to tell her it would be alright with all his being but... he couldn't stand to give her a false promise. "Lie to me then. Please. I just need to know that no matter what you say, it'll give me hope." She said, taking a small step towards him. "Please?" He... couldn't say it. Not when he had had to tell her parents he had let them down. Not when he had let her die. He couldn't promise her that... but... he could try to give her hope. His arms pulled her close again. "If you need me, I will come for you." "I've always needed you! And I know for a fact I always will." She replied, pushing herself away from his warm embrace, shaking her head slowly. "Your not my Henry anymore." She added, her voice slightly turning a bit cold. He looked back at her sadly. "I know." He didn't try to lie. He didn't try to hide it. It was already to plain for her to see and he knew she would never forgive him for that. |
